84, of Indianapolis, IN, passed away on April 15, 2017. He is survived by his wife, Beverly J (Hodson) Hughey, three sons; Larry (wife Linda, daughter Emily and children Taegrin and Cori), Kevin (wife Audrey), and David (wife Tamara and children Jacob, Morgan, and Parker) and his brother Edward (wife Sandy); he is preceded in death by his brother Kenneth (wife Jeanne, daughters; Kenna and Kerry and their husbands Marlin Hollis and Mike Yount) and his parents; Edward and Yoland Hughey.
Dee and the family are lifelong residents of Broad Ripple Village and owned Hughey Hartman Interiors, Town Stichery and Village Framery. Dee who graduated in 1951 from Broad Ripple High School, was also an award winning model boat designer and racer, multi gold medal senior Olympian, custom wood worker and lifetime member of Carmel Optimists.
There will be a funeral service held at Indiana Funeral Care and Crematory on Thursday, April 20,2017 at the Harry W. Moore Chapel, 8151 Allisonville Rd. Indianapolis, IN 46250, at 6 p.m. Family and friends may call from 4 p.m. until service time.
In lieu of flowers the family is asking for donations to be made to the local Humane Society.
